But the hero does keep forcing her to have sex while helping her run the inn. Though written from Siana's point of view, it's obvious from Matthew's gentle yet steadfast determination that he's very deeply in love with Siana. I actually would have prefered him to slap her face if she was getting violent. The author, at least, is subtler than some other writers in the series. There is something about the angsty train wreck that sucks me in each time. I read this book over twenty years ago, and I had forgotten the title, but I never, ever forgot this book. The Man at La Valaise 3. I enjoyed how the author slowly peeled the layers away keeping the intrigue up to the very last chapter. They try a few techniques in the book and Siana slowly starts remembering things. Published February by Harlequin Books first published Not recommended at all.
